Preston's Candy & Ice Cream is a family-owned manufacturing and retail candy and ice cream business. We make candy every day at our store and kitchen in Burlingame, California. We make small batches to insure freshness and high quality. Our recipes and manufacturing techniques are backed by over 60 years of candymaking experience.

In the Beginning ...
Arthur J. Preston knew he wanted to be a candy man at age 15 when he was apprenticed to a candymaker. After serving in the U.S. Army in World War II, Art used a GI Bill loan to open his own store in 1946. Preston's Candy & Ice Cream has been in business at the same location ever since - over 55 years of bringing delicious tastes and wholesome confections to residents of Burlingame and the surrounding counties, and around the world. We have many third generation customers as well as "old timers" who enjoyed our candy when Art first opened the doors.

52 Years and Counting
Art Preston is enjoying a well-earned retirement since the fall of 1997. Since then, he's been passing along his candymaking expertise and internationally acclaimed recipes to our candy artisans, who are just as committed to the tradition of home-made excellence, quality, freshness and integrity that Art and Corinne Preston built so successfully.

And the Award Goes to ...
In the time since Preston's Candy & Ice Cream was founded in 1946, Preston's candies have won many international awards, including the Grand Champion Medallion of the International Truffle Competition for three years in a row. Our candies have also won numerous awards in the Retail Confectioners International competition. A feature article about Preston's Candies recently appeared in Candy Industry.

Visiting Our Real World Site
We are easy to visit and would welcome you any time during business hours 10 to 9 six days a week, noon to 6 on Sunday.

If you'd like to see the candymaking and chocolate dipping processes, come to the Burlingame store on weekday mornings. You'll find a traditional storefront candy and ice cream shop "hiding" a bustling kitchen crowded with antique but hardworking equipment, and dark and milk chocolate dipping lines upstairs!

take the Burlingame Broadway exit from Highway US101 (north or southbound) go west one block past the railroad tracks Or, just take Caltrain to the Broadway station and walk west one block up Broadway.
